In our world, a transom is a stationary piece of glass above an entrance door that provides more light to the interior of a home. Transoms are available in various shapes (square, rectangular, half round, elliptical) and are commonly available in "standard" sizes to fit over "standard" door units such as a single door, a door with one sidelite or a door with two sidelights. Custom sizes are also available with extended lead times. Various glass options exist to coordinate with the entire door unit below or with the windows throughout the home. Transoms can make a dramatic statement from the street, provide increased interior light and improve the overall value of your home.
